So, I asked my humans to build something better, and they delivered.

Now I get the perfect meal, every time. And the best part?

My humans can set it all up from their phone.

In the Beginning

Our Story Why!

Our founder built an initial prototype (to the left) in 2017 and he used it feed his 85-pound yellow Lab (Dusty) for almost 6 years without fail. In 2023 Dusty passed; and at that point, he put the original feeder into storage and forgot about it for over a year.

In early 2024, he decided that the idea was just too good to forget about, and so he and a friend enhanced the original basic design, developed propitiatory electronics and software. Initially they started 3D printing a few versions until the design was fully refined; and both of them started using the the 3D printed versions with their own dogs. In 2024 our founder got a Black Lab (Tucker), who is being fed by a 3D printed version ever since, again without a single failure.

In mid-2024, our founder ordered a mold maker to build molds and produce 500 sets of the plastic parts; our founder also applied for a patent on the newly designed dog feeder, which was granted in August 2025.

We have been fortunate to secure a top quality co-packer (with ISO 9001 certification) to do our assembly, packaging, warehousing, and shipping. Our co-packer is based on the mid-west of the USA. Even more fortunately, our co-packer is as civic minded as we are and a significant portion of their profits go to helping the underprivileged in our society right here in the USA.

Our Team

Co-Founders Bruce and Barbara Anthenat’s love for dogs has always been a big part of their lives. Bruce is a serial innovator and entrepreneur. Barbara is retired after many years in the insurance industry.

Kelly Smoak is a graduate of Illinois College with B.S. degrees in Accounting and Business Management. Along with the family dog (Maui), Kelly and her husband are raising two beautiful girls.

Alan Anthenat is an engineering graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with experience in manufacturing and processing industries. He serves on the board as VP for the local Habitat for Humanity chapter. Alan, along with his wife and three boys, enjoy time with their three dogs.

Todd Smoak is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Purdue University with a M.S. in Information Technology. He is a seasoned leader in the world of I.T, currently serving on the board of directors for the board of Higher Education User Group (H.E.U.G). He and his wife are raising two daughters and a new puppy.

Dr. Jill Harvilchuck PhD, DABT is a seasoned toxicologist, military veteran and mother of three. She continues to serve our nation. Jill is a lifetime dog lover. She and her husband currently have three rescues – Bella, Bailey, and Scarlett.

Max, our Chief Barketing Officer, is the heart and bark of PawfectSmart. A loyal taste-tester, nap consultant, and daily reminder of why we do what we do. When he’s not overseeing operations (from his favorite sunny spot), he’s making sure every product meets the ultimate dog standard—his.
