PawfectSmart FAQ's and other cool stuff!
We specialize in automated dog food feeders specifically designed for medium and large dogs. Our feeders are particularly beneficial for dog breeds that are prone to overeating, as well as for dog owners who may not always be available to feed their pets.
Initially we will offer 4 colors: Pure Gold, Perfect Pink, Simply Silver, and Royal Blue. We will also be listening to customer feedback and may eventually add some other colors.
Any size solid dog food kibbles up to 23mm in diameter.
Up to 99 seconds of feeding time. For most dog food kibbles for larger dogs, that is equal to over 6-1/2 cups per serving. (FYI, our 85 pound Labrador Retriever eats less than two cups per serving.)
The PawfectSmart system has been tested in real world conditions for 6 years without a single failure. Yet, stuff can happen, so we recommend that each owner monitor their pet and any automated feeding or watering system to ensure the safety and well-being of their pet. To ensure that the Precision feeder dispenses food for your pet, the app for programming and monitoring the feeder automatically takes a photo of the last second of each food dispensing and puts a time stamp on the picture. The pet owner(s) can check the app to see what time the last feeding was and see either the food in the bowl or Fido eating away.
Currently we plan to start taking pre-orders in March 2025 with shipping of our first Precision XL Automatic Feeders in early 2nd quarter of 2025.
Each of the retailers of PawfectSmart may have their own return policy. However, if you purchased your Precision XL Feeder on our website, we provide a 20-day return (or exchange) window from your purchase date, for any reason. You MUST request a "Return Authorization ID" (RAID) from us (at [email protected]) prior to sending the feeder back and we must receive the return within 10 days of issuing the RAID. You are responsible for the return shipping cost and for returning the feeder in the original packaging.
Every Precision XL Feeder comes with a limited 30-day warranty which covers the materials, workmanship and performance of your feeder. If you register your feeder on our website within 30 days of purchase, we will automatically extend your limited warranty from 30-days to 12 months from the date of purchase! In case you do need to submit a warranty claim, you will be responsible for the cost of properly packaging and shipping your feeder to us and we will pay the cost of shipping back to you. This limited warranty specifically excludes damage due to abuse, miss-use, acts of God, failure to provide a sales receipt (as proof of purchase), or shipping damage (during return to us). At our sole description we will either repair or replace the feeder, or deny the claim, if in our sole determination, the damage was caused by an excluded cause. See the full warranty information in the User Manual.
If we deny your warranty claim for any excluded cause, we will provide you a cost to repair your feeder, so that you can decide how to move forward.

Setting up your new Precision XL Feeder
Follow the "READ ME FIRST" instruction sheet that was included with your Precision XL Feeder.
After completing the steps in the "READ ME FIRST !!!" sheet, place the feeder in the location where you plan to feed your dog. Make sure it's near a standard U.S. 115VAC electrical outlet.
- Plug the supplied power cord into the feeder (next to the ON/OFF switch), then into the wall outlet.
- Flip the switch to ON — you’ll hear a brief sound confirming the feeder is powered on.
- Connect to the PawfectSmart App (works on any mobile phone or computer with wireless internet access.)
- Open the Wi-Fi settings on your device.
Look for a network that starts with DFS_XXXXXXXX (DogFeederSystem).
- Select and connect to this network — no username or password is needed.
There are no monthly fees for the basic setup.
Once your feeder is powered on and connected, it’s time to secure it in place. Depending on your setup, you can choose from two recommended methods:
Option 1: Mounting with Screws
Inside the bowl alignment lugs on the base platform, you’ll find two mounting holes. These can be used to anchor the feeder with two #10 wood screws directly into the floor or an elevated platform.
This method is ideal if you’re installing on a wood surface and don’t mind making small holes to ensure the feeder stays firmly in place.
Option 2: Double-Sided Carpet Tape
Alternatively, apply a couple of strips of double-sided carpet tape to the floor or platform where the feeder will sit.
Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for best results.
This method offers a semi-permanent hold — strong enough to keep the feeder in place, but still removable without damaging the floor (if done carefully).
You are now ready to calibrate your dogs specific food with the new Precision XL Feeder. See the Users Manual for specific instructions for setting both feeding times and amount of food to feed.
